2482 Maynard recognizes the vital role art can play in strengthening communities and is committed to creating greater access to art for our neighbours and the broader public. Located in the heart of Kjipuktuk / Halifax, 2482 Maynard is a dedicated, accessible visual arts facility that offers neighbourhood programming and support for all levels of artistic practice.

2482 Maynard is a 10,000 square foot arts facility dedicated to providing long-term, barrier-free studio space for a wide variety of artists and arts programming in the North End.

2482 Maynard is a collaboration between Director, Emily Falencki and Wonder’neath Art Society’s Co-Directors Heather Wilkinson and Melissa Marr.

2482 Maynard recognizes the critical role of hands-on studio space in artistic development and aims to address the increasing lack of reliable art space in Kjipuktuk / Halifax.

2482 Maynard is committed to supporting visual artists at every level in developing their skills and practices in an environment that affirms their work and promotes dialogue with their peers and community.

2482 Maynard is an artist-led initiative bringing together private investment and charitable experience to explore and develop a vibrant model of artistic sustainability.

2482 Maynard is accessible from street level. There is an accessibility lift to the second floor which can be accessed through the entrance on the right. 

All washrooms at 2482 Maynard are single-stall and gender-neutral. At the back of the building is an accessible washroom equipped with a changing table.

2482 Maynard is one block away from bus routes #2 and #3 on North Street and three blocks from bus routes on Gottingen Street including #7. 

Directly in front of the 2482 Maynard building is a large parking lot that can be used by visitors, with an accessible parking spot on either side of the lot closest to the building. There is also a bike rack outside of the building.
